Regular check-ups lead to early detection

Preventblindness.org, and leading doctors like those we work with from the Delaware Eye Institute agree that early detection is key for rapidly growing youngsters. Even a simple correction, left uncorrected, can lead to learning and developmental problems. Our doctors are available at the Institute, and at our Dover location. Call for an appointment today.

Style and Function for the Young

We see many children for their eyecare needs from infants to late teens. As a child grows their needs change from a flexible infant's frame to durability, then style in early teens and possibly contact lenses in the later teen years. We understand children are more aware than ever of style and their parent's desire for durability; finding the right frame for both is easy when you have a great selection. Whether it is eyeglasses, protective sports eyewear or contact lenses we can help children feel comfortable with their correction and back it with customer service and guarantees that can make children's eyecare cost effective.

Comfort and Good Looks Yes, But what about Protection?

Ask us how we can help protect your childs vision during sporting events.  The facts are amazing; More than 600,000 eye injuries related to sports and recreation occur each year; Over 80% of children do not utilize protective eyewear in situations that represent a risk of eye injury; More than 90% of all eye injuries can be prevented with the use of appropriate protective eyewear.

For outdoor sports, insist on 100% UVA & UVB protection.  Additionally, photochromic (lenses that change color) or tinted lenses are excellent for sports various light situations.

For both indoor and outdoor sports, anti-reflective coatings add comfort by reducing glare.

Frames must be used with a sports band or retention strap to ensure the frame stays in place.

Consult the ASTM Standard(F803 and F910 primarily) for minimum eyewear protection levels.
